You can rename existing categories to keep the domains in that category. You can also leave the category name blank to delete the category. Naming two categories the same thing will combine them into one.

Views are the filters available on the main page. A view shows stories from any of its checked categories, including "Uncategorized" for domains you haven't sorted yet. Renaming, blanking (to delete) and merging work the same as for categories.
